About Me

 

Hi, I’m Darius Gourdine (They/Them, a Sound Designer with a deep passion for crafting immersive audio experiences in narrative-driven games. I specialize in designing and implementing high-quality sound effects that elevate gameplay, evoke emotion, and help tell unforgettable stories.

I’ve worked with studios like House of How, where I contributed to the full audio pipeline—from designing dynamic SFX and UI sounds to implementing systems using Unreal Engine 5, Metasounds, Blueprints, and Wwise. My technical background includes experience with C#, Unity, and Azure DevOps, and I’m comfortable working closely with engineers and animators to bring complex audio systems to life.

Whether I’m prototyping a procedural sound system, collaborating on animation tags, or recreating a foley inventory system inspired by God of War Ragnarök, I approach every project with curiosity, precision, and a love for storytelling through sound.

I’ve also:

  • Game Audio Diversity Alliance scholarship recipient

  • Contributed to a Panel at AirCon25 called “Finding your first Job in Game Audio”

  • Earned 2nd place at Global Game Jam (Suwanee, GA)

  • Helped organize Carousel Con at GDC in 2023 & 2024

  • Built experimental tools for adaptive audio design and UI feedback

I’m always exploring new ways to use sound as a storytelling tool—ways that make players feel connected to characters, worlds, and moments. If you’re building games that aim to move players emotionally, I’d love to contribute.
